What to Prepare for an Eyewear Quotation

A precise brief makes quotations easier to assess and compare.

Start with seven decisions

  1. Model: list an EYVRON reference, a silhouette or your own design direction. State whether you need a sample, an existing frame or development work.
  2. Quantity: give pairs per model and per colour, plus an estimated repeat-order plan if known.
  3. Material and size: identify the proposed material, measurements, lens setup and any must-have construction details.
  4. Colour and finish: attach or describe a reference. Identify what must match a physical sample.
  5. Branding: state logo locations, artwork availability and preferred marking method.
  6. Packaging: list cases, cloths, boxes, labels and any barcodes.
  7. Destination and timing: give the target market, delivery destination and required arrival date.

If you are still exploring, mark undecided points as open. A smaller, accurate brief is more useful than an assumed specification.

Compare the scope, not only the unit price

Ask whether sample charges, tooling, branding, packaging, testing, freight and taxes are included or quoted separately. Record the currency, quote validity and the agreed delivery terms.

Confirm minimum order quantities by model and colour. Separate sample timing from production timing, and establish when the schedule starts. Do not treat a concept image, enquiry reply or estimated date as a confirmed production commitment.

  • Final specification and artwork version agreed
  • Sample review and acceptance criteria defined
  • Price, inclusions, payment and delivery terms in writing
  • Relevant product and market documentation confirmed
  • Responsibility for changes and non-conforming items agreed
